How I ended up doing this
I spent years securing corporate networks and enterprise systems. When I look at a hacked WordPress site, I recognise the same patterns attackers use against much larger targets, applied to small businesses that cannot keep a security team on retainer.
I started doing this because a friend needed help. They had paid a well-known company to clean an infected site. That company deleted core WordPress files, broke the site and still left the infection in place. I took a look and found three backdoors.
That is the difference in approach. Most services treat a compromise like a maintenance ticket. I treat it as a breach: find the entry point, remove everything the attacker left, then close the hole so it cannot be reused.
Today I work with site owners across the UK and worldwide, mostly small businesses and agencies who need their site back online quickly and want a straight answer about what went wrong.

A hacked site is an intrusion. I look for how the attacker got in and what they left behind, rather than deleting the one file you can see and hoping.
